Girnar Parikrama 2024 will start on November 12, 2024. The Junagadh administration has already started preparations for the green circle.
A recent meeting was held at the head office of Junagadh Collector with the officials and heads of various offices connected with the operation of Parikrama. In this meeting, there was a detailed discussion about the preparations made by the main departments, including the Forest Department, Police Department, Municipal Corporation, Health, Transport, and the special operations to be done in the coming days.
Importance & History of Girnar Parikrama
It is said that Girnar is home to thirty-three crore deities. So, by circumambulating this girder, devotees experience the blessings of thirty-three crore deities. The gods and goddesses also circumambulated Girnar in Satyuga. Shri Krishna himself performed Parikrama.
Girnar Lili Parikrama 2024 Date
Junagadh Girnar Lili Parikrama for 2024 will start on November 12th and end on November 15th 2024.
Girnar Lili Parikrama Distance
Girnar Parikrama is around 36 km long. The First stop is available after the 12th km of the walk. The second stop comes after the 8 km, and the third stop comes after the 8 km walk. The final and fourth stop comes after the 4 km of the last walk.
Starting Point of Girnar Parikrama
Girnar Parikrama starts by following the gujarati calendar from Kartak Sud Agiyaras and ends at the Kartak sud Poonam. In which the devotees bathe in Damodar Kund on the day of Ekadashi, have the blessing of Damodarji, Bhavnath Mahadev, and Dudheshwar Mahadev, and spend the night at Girnar foothills. On the night of the Kartak Sud Agiyaras, the ceremonial start of the Leeli Parikrama takes place.
Refreshment Stop at Watch Tower
Here, people can rest and have some water or food. Water facilities are arranged at the places named Vadlo of Kalka, Madhi of Jinabawa, Ghodi of Malvela, Malvela, Surajkundal, Surnala, near Nagadevtana station, Bordevi three roads, and Bordevi place.
Route of Girnar Parikrama
First of all, on Kartiki Ekadashi at twelve o’clock in the night, the circumambulation starts from the circumambulation route by offering pooja prayers.
After walking the whole night, the first camp reaches Jinabawani Madhi. Staying there for the night with food, bhajan, and devotion.
On the next day, they climb the Itvani Ghodi (a Kind of small mountain with a walking road) and the Malvela’s Kapri Ghodi and reach the place of Malvela, which is located in very dense forests. After claiming at the Itvani Gohdi, you can have some lemon water and another refreshment on the road to dehydrate yourself.
Another camp spends the night there as a 2nd stop, Which is called as “Zina Bavani Madhi“. People make the delicious desi gujarati food such as Rotla, Olo (Baigan ka Bhartha), and Khichdi here and enjoy it with devotion. Also, people stay at night on the farm, enjoy their trip & stay with nature.
On the third day, walking further from there, one reaches Bordevi by visiting the places named Surajkund, and Sukhnala. There is a natural forest setting and an overnight stay with the threat of wildlife.
Finally, on the fourth day, walking ahead of Bordevi, they reach Bhavnath and complete the journey by bathing in Damodarkund.
Facilities Available at Girnar Parikrama
During this Parikrama, more than 200 food stalls will be there, 150 service institutions will help people, and more than 25 medical camps will be established. This time, a special MD doctor will also be deployed for regular health checkups and serious issues such as heart attacks and mare.
In Addition, 500+ police staff/officers will be deployed on the Yatra route to provide 15 points of drinking water, lights, and security for people.
